Welcome to the Fishy Tales forum primarily for members of Hassocks and District Angling Society. The forum requires you to register. As soon as I receive your registration request, I will validate it allowing you access to the forum. You will receive the validation via the email address you supply in the registration. The forum I set up last year had incidents of abuse forcing me to close it down, despite being enjoyed by many genuine users hence the increase in security. As well as IP tracking which allows the administrators and moderators to determine originations of postings, there is also a "warning system" in place for any infringements of the forum guidelines

So far, I have set up four separate forum areas: General, Carp and Specimen, Match and Help if anyone has suggestions for further groups let me know.

Junior members (for this purpose of age 13 and under) are required to get a parent or guardian to send Steve Mahkonen (Honoaray Secretary) written permission for you to use the forum. This is for your protection, if you have any questions please email me.

The email adress that you register with needs to be the email that you put on your membership application form-if we don't have it on record send it to me with your membership name and number - as well as being for security this will also allow me to send out newsletters by email and save a lot of postage costs. (Newsletters can also be more frequent and in colour)

Other features of the forum are the ability to "personal message" other members that are online and to send them emails.

There is also a calendar which has club events as well as allowing the user to add their own dates which can be either PUBLIC-viewable by all or PRIVATE- for your own use only.

I hope that you all enjoy the forum and that it becomes a useful and worthwhile facility. As with any new venture, there are bound to be teething problems-any problems let me know.
